Trending - Off-Shoulder Tops and Dresses

I wouldn't call myself a trend follower, but if I see a trend I think will look good on me, and I'm comfortable with it, I try it! Recently I joined the Culottes bandwagon, and I really like it! My sister still thinks its silly. I asked my very few close friends, some of whom were like - dude, you know i don't follow trends, so I don't know... what they thought would be on trends this year, and here is one of the trends we thought is here to stay in 2016.

Off-Shoulder Tops, and Dresses aka Cold Shoulder Tops/Dresses

I am not sure why, but I personally really love this trend and I wonder why it hasn't graduated to becoming a wardrobe staple. I personally think it looks good on everybody, especially the tops. Although a little risqué for some, a little shoulder baring doesn't hurt anybody if you are comfortable with it. I've been filling my wardrobe with this and it has become a staple in my closet especially for summer, and year-round summer locations.

Documentary - Deola Sagoe

I hope more Nigerians will get recognized for their creativity and talent in the years to come. My mum told me about a documentary she watched about a Nigerian designer, and I was thinking to myself.. who could it be that moved my mum to discuss this with me ? She told me her name was Deola Sagoe, and the name sounded so familiar. That was because I had been watching from afar the designs of Deola's daughter, Teni of Clan. I don't know Ms. Deola personally (although we could bond on how we are namesakes), I really applaud her for her bravery, creativity, and exposing Nigeria in a different light to the world. I also love her for sticking with her guts and bringing in my generation to continue the work she has started. Below and if you click here,  is the documentary if you are interested in watching..

Trending - A-Line Denim Skirt

Remember when we talked about Jeans trending ? I think about a few months ago , well, lately this particular style of skirt has been making its rounds on the interwebs (yep.. thats what I call the internet...) and I'm not particularly sure if I can pull it off,  It's an A-Skirt, front buttons Jeans Skirt, or in the fashion world, they would call it an A-line Denim Button Mini/Midi Skirt.. or something like that! My guess is that the trend started with Alexa Chung when she designed this for AG. What do you think ? Have you tried it ? It would be perfect for Summer!
